GFUL members and guests are invited to kick off the season in style on Wednesday 1 April from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Highton Bowls Club, North Valley Road Highton. The Season Launch is the perfect opportunity to network with your fellow umpires and our Association sponsors over a few rounds of barefoot bowls before Round 1 of the BFNL gets underway! Tickets are free for GFUL Members but all attendees must reserve a ticket for catering purposes. Light canapes are included in your ticket and beverages will be available for purchase at bar prices. Please advise of any dietary requirements when reserving your ticket. We're heading back to Bunnings Waurn Ponds for our annual fundraising sausage sizzle on Sunday 15 March 2026 and we're in need of volunteers to make it happen! We are asking for members to come and help us make the day a great success in raising some funds for the season ahead. Anyone aged 13 years and over is invited to sign up to a volunteer shift or two - friends and family members are all welcome to join us. We would greatly appreciate any time you can commit to the day as many hands make light work! Please note that any adults volunteering must have a Working With Children Check. You can apply for a free check through Service Victoria.

Join us monthly for the Wednesday Night Dinners! Returning for our third year in 2026, we hope that our monthly dinner program will continue to be a great opportunity for all umpires to socialise with and build the camaraderie amongst new and old friends. This month's meal will be spring rolls with fried rice and dinner will be served at the conclusion of training. Subsidised pricing is available to GFUL Members with thanks to Conni. Bookings are essential, family and friends welcome! Beverages will be available on the night at bar prices. Please advise of any dietary requirements when reserving your ticket. Please reserve your ticket/s by Monday 2 March 5:00pm to take advantage of pre-order pricing! Limited meals will be available for purchase on the night at an increased price. We are delighted to be returning to Furphy Hall at Little Creatures again this year, where guests will be treated to a two course meal and GFUL Members will receive a complimentary beverage on arrival. Tickets are $65 for adults and $29 for children aged 12 years and under. Guests are encouraged to arrive from 6:30pm for a 6:45pm start. Please dress to impress in your finest semi-formal attire - we love our club colours, but you don't need to wear your GFUL polo for this one. Requests for seating allocations can be made when purchasing your ticket or by emailing Emily (click here to email). While all care will be taken to accommodate timely requests, we appreciate your understanding that no guarantees can be made.
